5 Disturbing Unsolved Poisoning Cases

When we think of crimes like murder or assault, we tend to think of physical brutality. Weapons like guns, knives, clubs, or even fists that are actively used by an attacker to damage a victim’s body. Then there is poison, a weapon that has been around since antiquity, and notably stands apart from these other methods. Rather than requiring an assailant to be in close proximity to their victim, a poisoner relies on stealth and precision, and need not be anywhere near the scene of the crime when an attack takes place. Though poisoning can mean an equally or in some cases even more brutal death for the victim, the truly haunting part is how cold and calculated these cases can be, sometimes taking place over a period of weeks or even months.

Today we wanted to take a look at a few examples of such cases, focusing specifically on unsolved poisoning cases that we found particularly chilling. We’ve also opted to include 1 bonus story for this list that is related to the theme but not quite as severe as the others.
