Being a 911 dispatcher has got to be one of the toughest and most emotionally draining jobs out there. You’re constantly dropped into the worst moments of people’s lives without any context, and often without any real resolution either. Of course, if you’ve been watching this channel for any amount of time you’ll know that not everyone who calls 911 actually has a good reason. Unfortunately, every day police departments have to deal with calls that aren’t for actual emergencies. Whether it’s because people don’t know the right number to call, they’re bored, or they simply want to try and mess with authorities, these calls all tend to have two things in common — they’re a massive waste of police resources, and they make the callers sound pretty ridiculous.

Today we wanted to take a look at a few examples of these cases, focusing on some of the strangest and stupidest 911 calls we’ve come across so far.
